Rocker Recliners Let You Rock Yourself To Sleep

You can't beat rocker recliners for relaxation, unless you look at glider rocker/recliners.

The Bone Leatherette Rocker/Glider Recliner with/Ottoman by 'Home and Living' has a list price of $440 but one site had it as low as $172.99, so if you're looking for a good price, you can't beat that. It's got a separate ottoman, instead of having a built-in foot rest. There's always that fight that you do in your head between 'best costs the most but will last forever' and 'I can get that one for nothing'.

If you're looking for quality in a Glider / rocker Recliner, you could go with the San Marco by Ashley Furniture. It goes for only $399.99 (List price $599.99). It is made form polyurethane, has a look of leather, and is colored a 'Bark' color. These rocker recliners are squarish, with the feel of a regular sofa chair that you might have in a living room. It's 'typical', I'd call it.

Barrington has a Reclining Glider Rocker with an Ebony finish that they call their 'Premium 6 Position' recliner. Its non-toxic, made out of lead-free paint and goes for only $299.99. Since it doesn't come with its own foot-rest, you'll have to supply one. It gets 4 out of five stars, but only had one review. The complaint was that the lift mechanism was pretty cheap that locked the mechanism to hold it in position. It's available at Target stores, apparently.

If you're going to pay $300 for rocker recliners, you can't expect that they're going to last like $700 recliners. They make the parts out of plastic instead of metal or wood, because they have to save that money somehow. There's a reason you pay more for one of the better rocker recliners.

Sometimes what you're paying for is looks. The Garrett 'Mocha Rocker Recliner' goes for a retail price of $728.56. I wonder why they are so picky about the cents. It's kind of strange to have a list price that has .56 cents at the end. It's very nice looking, though. Their price is $509.99, so you save a lot.

At a list price of $835.99, the Sand Padded Microfiber Rocker Recliner Chair , by AtHomeMart is a steal at $489.99. It has smoke plush padding and has 'generously sized seating', so I guess if you have a big frame, you would like. The hardwood frame is really strong, and yet the size is quite small, being 43" x 38" x 39".

The reason that you buy rocker recliners is because you want to lay back and relax. A recliner says that to you just by looking at it. The closing mechanism should be easy to use, when you're sitting in the chair it shouldn't jolt you in a hard way, it should be so comfortable that you'd sleep in it (I do) and it should look nice over the years.

If you want rocker recliners to keep looking nice even after ten years, you should consider paying a little more. My Berkline has performed well since 1999, so it's now 11 years old. You'd think it was brand-new. There's just a little worn spot where I lay my back, probably more because I used a rather harsh cleaner on it than because there was something wrong with the couch.

You have to give up some things depending upon the choices you make. If you buy a couch, you will give up the capability of having either a chair that rocks, glides or swivels. However, if you choose a reclining armchair you won't be able to have anybody else use it but you.

When you choose rocker recliners, then there's going to be a bit of instability in it relative to a fixed version; so make sure that you get to sit in the recliner first, before you purchase it. You would probably lose a lot of money if you bought it, only to find that you had to sell it after a year.
