From Office Chair Recliner To Sectional: The Two Sides Of A Spectrum
On the two ends of the spectrum are an office chair recliner, or a sectional motion recliner. They're not even in the same ballpark.
A sectional fills up a quarter of the room. An office chair recliner is the smallest recliner you can purchase. It can fit beneath a computer desk.
A sectional generally is made out of Microfiber fabric, whereas an office chair recliner is almost always made out of leather or fake leather. The cheapest are made from heavy-duty fabric.
So, you're talking about the Moon, or Mars. Which are further apart from each other?
A sectional can come in four pieces that fit together so you can put them into the corner, or you can rearrange them to be straight along the wall. They tend to be 'easy to clean', but only because of the cloth being good at not staining easily.

That's because one gave four stars, and the other had a complaint and gave it one star. The one who gave it four stars loved it. The one who gave it 1 star wanted to return it, but it was too light for the company to take returns on it. His son was over 6-feet tall, and couldn't use it.
Moral of the story, always test out any chair that you want to purchase. Look up the manufacturer and ask if they have any dealers in your area. If they do, go there and try them out. Remember that there are hundreds of manufactures of the office chair recliner, not just three or four. If one doesn't do it, you don't need to buy it.
Lets do a run-down of the various different kinds of recliners you could buy, not just an office chair recliner. There are swivel recliners, they can move to the left and right. Rocker recliners let you rock like a rocking chair. Zero-gravity recliners let you smoothly recline back. Sofa recliners are big, couch recliners are bigger. A loveseat recliner takes two people, so if you don't have kids, that's a good choice. Armchair recliners have arms, and tend to be pretty big. That's what La-Z-Boy meant, years-ago.
So, each has its use and purpose. Many, though, now-a-days, want to be able to use their chair double-purpose. You can then use it to type at the computer, then turn it and watch a movie on large-screen TV. Most of the choices you'll make when you purchase a recliner will have to do with how many people you have in your family. If you are single, you'd probably go with an armchair recliner.
If you have no kids, but are married, but aren't thinking of having any kids then a loveseat would be good.
If you might soon be expanding your family, but you're not sure; buy either a two-person sofa, or two-person couch. Those would be your best choice.
If you have two kids, then you probably will want a sofa and a separate recliner, or even two reclining office chairs.
